Are paper stickers biodegradable?
Yes, our paper stickers are biodegradable.
But be careful; not all paper stickers are automatically biodegradable. What makes stickers compostable is their composition. To be biodegradable, stickers have to be made from plant-based materials. Those allow biodegradable stickers to be decomposed by bacteria.
We also offer compostable labels made from biodegradable paper.
Are biodegradable stickers sustainable?
Yes, our biodegradable paper stickers are made of sustainably sourced sugarcane fibre, linen and hemp. Sugarcane is a by-product which remains after sugarcane stalks are crushed when extracting the sugar.
Other products like wood stickers, for example, might be made of plant materials and therefore biodegradable, but that does not make them sustainable.
Sustainability revolves around renewable sources and practices that can be continued indefinitely without harming the ecosystem.
Are stickers eco-friendly?
We have an entire range of eco-friendly stickers, including white and clear options. Eco-friendly is a looser term; however even our environmentally friendly stickers are fully compostable.
These stickers are perfect for branding eco-friendly products, promoting sustainable brands and kickstarting the transition to more eco-conscious marketing strategies for your business.
What makes stickers recyclable?
Recyclable stickers are made from recyclable materials that can be reused, often over and over again. You can think of time like your food packaging or plastic bottles.
Some recyclable stickers are made from already recycled paper or other materials. However, the term recyclable stickers only refer to whether the sticker itself can be recycled, not what it is made from.
The recycling process is very straightforward, and you do not need recycling machines. Simply put these stickers into your recycling bins at home.
What about vinyl stickers?
Vinyl stickers are super popular because they are durable and resistant. Like traditional stickers, vinyl stickers are usually associated with plastic, which means that they are not biodegradable.
Does that make vinyl stickers bad? It depends. Sometimes you simply need a waterproof and versatile sticker.
A standard vinyl sticker is usually made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is not as easy to recycle.
At Sticker it, we try and minimise the environmental impact of our materials as much as possible. This is why our vinyl stickers are made from polypropylene, which is widely recyclable and often used for food and drinks packaging.
