How white ink works on clear stickers

White ink can be used in two ways on your clear and transparent stickers: Ii can be used as a white underprint or as a simple white colour.

White underprinting means that we will print white in between the clear material and your spot colour. This will dilute the effect of the clear material and give you vivid and vibrant colours.

Printing colours directly onto the clear sticker material will result in a beautiful stained-glass effect. A white print interferes with that and makes your colours appear "normal".

Since different layers have to be printed on your sticker, you might find that your standard desktop printer is not quite up to the task. But that is what we are here for.

When should I use white ink?

You can use white ink whenever you are after that opaque look on an effect material like clear stickers or our metallic options.

We recommend especially it for any text you want to include on a sticker with a transparent background. A white underprint will make the printed text more legible and easier to understand.

Do I have to include white layers in my design?

When you design your custom stickers, you do not have to include any white layer. Instead, you can simply leave instructions when you order your stickers and tell our design team which parts of your artwork you would like to print opaque.

You will then receive a digital design proof that indicates each section for you to double-check and request changes at no additional cost until you are ready.
